How this calculator works

Etsy's fee structure is simple on paper — a 6.5% transaction fee plus 3% + $0.25 for payment processing — but it's easy to under-price a listing when you forget those percentages apply to shipping too, or that Offsite Ads becomes mandatory once a shop crosses $10,000 in trailing revenue. This tool applies Etsy's current standard US rates to your numbers directly, so you can see the real payout before you set a price, not after the first sale surprises you.

FAQ

Does Etsy take a cut of the shipping I charge?
Yes. Both the 6.5% transaction fee and the 3% + $0.25 payment processing fee apply to your shipping charge, not just the item price — Etsy treats the full amount the buyer pays as the order total.
Where's the $0.20 listing fee in this calculator?
It's real, but it's billed separately from any specific sale — you pay it when you publish a listing, and it renews automatically every four months (or immediately if the listing sells and has more than one quantity left). Because it isn't tied to one transaction, it isn't subtracted from the net proceeds shown above.
When does the Offsite Ads fee actually apply?
Only on sales Etsy can attribute to one of its own ads — not every sale in your shop. If your trailing 12-month revenue is under $10,000, participation is optional and you can turn it off in your shop settings. At $10,000 or more, it becomes mandatory and you can't opt out.
I sell outside the US — will my fees match this?
The transaction fee and Offsite Ads rates are the same everywhere Etsy operates. Payment processing rates vary a little by country, and some regions have an added regulatory operating fee. Check Etsy's official fee page for your shop's country for the exact figure.
