WhatsApp Link Generator
Turn a phone number into a click-to-chat WhatsApp link, complete with a pre-filled message and a scannable QR code.
Local number only — spaces and dashes are fine, they're stripped automatically. Skip the leading 0 if your country uses one domestically (most do; Italy is a notable exception).

How this works
WhatsApp opens a chat with anyone from a single URL — wa.me/<number> — with an optional ?text= parameter that pre-fills the message box. This tool builds that URL for you: it combines the country code and local number into the digits-only format WhatsApp expects, and URL-encodes your message so punctuation and line breaks survive the trip. The link, and the QR code built from it, work the same whether the visitor is on a phone with WhatsApp installed or a desktop using WhatsApp Web.
FAQ
- Do I need a WhatsApp Business account to use this?
- No — this works with any WhatsApp number, personal or business. It just builds the standard wa.me link that WhatsApp itself uses; nothing is registered or connected to your account.
- Will the other person see the message before they send it?
- Yes. The link opens a chat with your message already typed into the text box, but the visitor still has to press send themselves — you can't force a message to send automatically, which is exactly why this is safe to put on a public page.
- Why does it ask for a country instead of just the full number?
- WhatsApp links need the number in one unbroken international format (country code + local number, no spaces, no leading 0 or +). Splitting it into country and local number means you don't have to work out that format by hand.
- What's the QR code for?
- The same link, encoded so a phone camera can open the chat directly — handy for a printed flyer, a table tent, a business card, or a storefront sticker where typing a link isn't practical.
